This week's drop in mortgage rates marks 9 straight weeks of rates going down and that feels like a pretty long streak. It got me thinking: how common is it for mortgage rates to drop 9 weeks in a row? Turns out it's not very common! In the 2,844 weeks that Freddie Mac has been tracking weekly mortgage rate data, this nine-week winning streak is the 17th longest ever. So that's very rare. If we get to 10 weeks, it'll be even more rare. And if you're curious, the longest streak of all time is 31 weeks. That happened in 1982. We've got a whole report on mortgage rate streaks if you're interested. It interests me, obviously. I put a link in the description, check it out. I'm Dan with Homebuyer.com. Happy homebuying.
