The number of homes going into contract rose in October. According to the National Association of REALTORS® and its Pending Home Sales Index report. There was a near 2 percent increase from the month prior with REALTORS® saying that 19% of listings sold for over list price. The typical home received 2.1 offers and majority of homes - 84 percent - were for sales of a primary home. But most interesting, to me anyway, is that 1-in-5 buyers waived the right to home inspection and the same amount waived the appraisal contingency clause. Numbers like that suggest that, despite headlines that talk about a coming housing downturn, on the street, it's very much the opposite. Buyers are behaving like it is still a seller's market.
