Welcome back from Thanksgiving, the unofficial start to Housing Season. A time when we sit around the table with friends and family, we eat good food, and aspiring first time buyers begin to float those ideas about buying their first home. It's harder to buy today than years past in a lot of ways. Housing costs more money. Fewer homes are for sale. Incomes don't always keep up with the market, but. Buying is also easier in a lot of ways too. You can look at homes from your phone at any time. You can learn about mortgages and mortgage rates online, which you used to have to do in person during business hours. You can get multiple lender offers, which study after study proves saves you money or can extend your maximum purchase price. So if this past week marked your unofficial start to home ownership, the official start will probably be the week between christmas and New Year's. Use the next four weeks wisely. Mortgage rates are down about 5/8ths from last year. Markets are beginning to slow as the Holiday Season rolls in. It's a good time to see what's out there. I'm Dan with Homebuyer.com. Happy homebuying.
